CALL FOR PAPERS - Utility Sessions at the ISA Conference

The Utility Arborist Association is pleased to announce the call for papers for the utility sessions at the International Society of Arboriculture and UAA Annual Conference, July 23-28 2010, in Chicago, Illinois.

 

You are invited to submit an abstract of 250 words or less. Speakers will be selected based on appropriateness of topic, practical application of material, demonstrated ability of speaker, and attractiveness to a diverse audience.

 

Focus Areas for Presentation Proposals include but are not limited to, the following:

 

Line clearance pruning practices

Use of Tree Growth Regulators in UVM

Use of herbicides in UVM

Herbicide handling and waste disposal

Use of non-chemical alternatives in UVM

Plant community ecology (i.e. succession, stability)

Risk (hazard) identification and management (i.e. hazard trees)            

Outage prediction models and methods

Modes and caused of interruptions   

Right Tree/Right Place  

Management of individual landscape trees

Public & worker safety

T&D lines and Wildfires

Management related business/operational topics

Improved work processes and practices

Application of advanced technology in UVM
